All policiesBooking and Refund Policy
Version 0.1-draft · Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE]
What this covers (plain language) Each venue sets its own cancellation rules, shown before you pay. Every venue must also meet the minimums below. Refunds are paid by the venue, because your money went to the venue, not to Tarakits.
1. Venue policy
Each venue publishes a cancellation cutoff (for example, "free cancellation up to 24 hours before start") and any no-show rule. The policy shown at checkout is the one that applies to your booking, even if the venue changes it later.
2. Platform minimums (every venue must meet these)
| Situation | What you get | Paid by the venue within |
|---|---|---|
| You cancel before the venue's cutoff | Full refund of what you paid | [5] business days (online) / [3] business days (direct-to-owner) |
| You cancel after the cutoff, or don't show up | As the venue's policy states (may be no refund) | — |
| The venue cancels, closes, or can't provide the slot | Full refund, or a free reschedule if you choose it | same as above |
| Typhoon, flood, power outage or government order makes the slot unusable | Full refund or free reschedule, at your choice | same as above |
| Double booking or a system error | Full refund | same as above |
| Late payment after the hold expired and the slot was taken | Automatic full refund | started immediately (online) |
| Direct-to-owner proof rejected by the venue (payment not received) | Booking released; if you did pay, report it and the venue must check and refund | [3] business days |
- Online refunds go back through the venue's payment provider to the original method. Provider fees may be kept by the provider; the venue may not deduct them from refunds it owes under the venue-cancellation, force-majeure or error rows. [LAWYER REVIEW]
- Direct-to-owner and pay-at-venue refunds go back to the same account or as agreed with you.
- Venues may not apply a policy stricter than the one shown at checkout.
3. If a refund doesn't arrive
- Use Report a problem on the booking, or email [SUPPORT EMAIL].
- We contact the venue, and may suspend its new bookings until it resolves the case.
- If it remains unpaid, we give you the venue's registered details and a record of your booking, payment and check-in, for your bank/e-wallet/card dispute or a complaint to the DTI.
Tarakits does not hold your money and cannot pay the refund itself.
4. Open play (shared sessions)
The same rules apply to each seat. If the venue cancels a session, every paid participant gets a full refund.
